Department Summary
Delivery Management takes projects from planning to delivery - on time, on budget, and on brief. Delivery Management is everyone’s go to place for the project. Clients and internal team members rely on you for everything they need to know about a project: what to expect, what to do next, and where they need to be.
Role Summary
The Project Manager manages smaller projects with support from more senior team members and/or supports more senior Project Managers in the management of larger-scale projects. You will ensure project documentation and logistics are kept up to date and communicated with all team members; take part in defining, creating and managing all project management documentation, and assist with tracking project progress, issues and risks.
Being a good Project Manager requires a diverse mix of skills and experience. To be effective you need to be more than just organised and a good communicator. You’ll need to be able to prioritise, keep calm and focused, be able to delegate, not assume too much, be approachable, and have a passion for Digital. You’ll want to know how things work and you are always on the look-out for new tools, services and ways of doing things. And all of this while maintaining your sense of humour!
Responsibilities
- Run smaller projects with support from more experienced team members
- Assist senior Project Manager with planning and updates to project plan
- Track and maintain project risk and issues log
- Assist senior Project Manager in weekly status reporting
- Attend team meetings and capture issues and actions. Ensure actions are followed up by the team
- Escalate issues to relevant senior manager where appropriate
- Attend client meetings and capture requirements and minutes. Listen, ask questions when unclear
- Assist senior Project Manager in updating budgets and forecasts
- Track actual time and expenses incurred by team
- New team member orientation with regards to distribution lists, project codes, desk, client/project overview
- Conducts timely, fair and accurate project reviews for team members, using the standard templates, where appropriate and as agreed with senior Project Manager
- Conducts self, and communicates, professionally with clients and colleagues
- Works proactively with Client Partner / Client Director to ensure completion of project reviews for self
- Provides 360° feedback for team members where appropriate as agreed with senior Project Manager
Company
- Supports sales activities, proposal writing
- Assists in setting up team building activities and events
- Supports business operational processes (e.g. supports running end of project reviews)
- Endeavours to complete personal career objectives to timeline agreed with line manager
- Makes use of appropriate research materials (Internet, publications etc.) to ensure skills and knowledge remain current
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 1 year + prior experience as a Project Manager / Producer or other directly related experience within an agency environment
- Proven organisational skills
- Strong follow-through orientation
- Business process orientation
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
- Self-starter and self-learner
- Ability to work independently to tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience in constructing work plans for projects
- Ability to put administrative structure and organisation in place on new or existing project
