The EFL’s journalist will have the day-to-day responsibility for creating, editing and publishing engaging content on internal media channels including asocial media and any internal communication platforms. In addition, the EFL journalist will be the primary point for media channel maintenance.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements;
1. Educated to Degree Level with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a content/journalism role.
2. The ability to produce accurate, engaging content quickly, working to tight deadlines across multiple projects.
3. A thorough understanding of the current content environment and how media channels are used to maximise the message.
4. An understanding of the Football industry and, in particular, the EFL and its 72 member Clubs.
5. Experience in a sporting industry would be desired but not essential.
6. The ability to regularly generate ideas, challenge the status quo whilst considering organisational limitations.
7. The ability to regularly deliver results.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills including proven experience of influencing individuals and decision makers at all levels.
9. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Skills in creating audio/visual content would be desirable but not essential.
10. Experience with working with Adobe software (Photoshop and Premiere Pro).
11. Experience of CMS systems.
12. Proven experience of effective content delivery.
13. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead.
14. A track record for meeting and exceeding goals within strict timeframes in a pressurised environment.
15. The ability to plan and think practically.
16. Pro-active approach to day to day issues.
